Week 17: January 30th- February 4th
Monday, January 30th Mrs. Carlson was gone today so I read with non-typical students. The first book I read was Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse . I forgot how much i love that book! It brought back memories from when I was in second grade and the student I read it with seems to cherish it like I did. I then read a graphic novel with a different kid, She’s a very gifted reader. She implements voices that fit the characters of the books she’s reading. This student then told me she relates to the main character because she too has nightmares most nights. She said she tries to think nice thoughts to go fall back asleep. That has got to be scary at a young age.
