Week 23: March 22nd-24th

               Wednesday, March 22nd ➽Activity of the Day: Reading     I was working with one of my typical girls today. She was reading much more fluently. I'm proud of her because I can tell she's been practicing during break. She did better than last week! The next step is making inferences and recalling facts. While she can read through sentences, if I ask her questions about what happened in the story, she doesn't remember. If I ask her to make logical inferences about what will happen next, she doesn't want to share. I'm not sure if she won't make inferences because she's afraid of embarrassing herself to me. Week 22: March 6th-9th

            Monday, March 6th ➽Activity of the Day: Egg activity and reading with other students         I got to read with different people today! Each kid read from the same large book called "Journeys" which houses many different stories within it. Since I don’t see them every day, these kids had a lot to tell me. One girl wanted me to know she went to the science center and saw a snapping turtle. She said she was scared it would come over the glass cage and bite her fingers or her dad’s head. A different girl was telling me how she sat through two hours at the civic center for a play in Spanish (she doesn’t speak Spanish). One boy was telling me about his love life. This was a great start to my Monday!        The kids were all taking care of eggs today. They got to name their eggs (the kids I was working with today named their eggs Cookies, Jeff, and Mr. Egg).
